  • Which workshops are required?

    Students enrolled in CIS493Z are required to attend:

    • all required orientation workshops (program overview and applicable lab safety)
    • all required symposium workshops (abstract and poster design)
      • this requirement may be waived by students who have previously participated in the symposium
    • three additional workshops

     

    QAC apprentices have alterative requirements; please consult the QAC moodle and calendar for details. 

     

  • Which optional workshops should I attend?

    CIS offers a number of optional workshops during the summer program. These are listed by date and by topic. Fellows are encouraged to consult with their faculty mentors to determine which ones are most complimentary to their program of study. Students enrolled in CIS493Z are required to attend at least three optional workshops. 

  • Who can attend these workshops?
    Workshops coordinated by CIS are open to all research fellows on campus regardless of funding.
  • Why do some workshops have limited seating?
    Workshops presented by the library, IDEAS lab, and QAC have limited seating to accommodate constraints on space and materials.
  • How do I sign up for workshops?

    Please sign up for workshops via Moodle. All students must sign-in to the workshops and seminars they attend.
